So here it is, the 30th day of April, the day I embark on my challenge to write more and practice the art of sharing my thoughts through words. I normally share my perspective through abstract images created in a kinetic space by the carving of that space with the human body. Yes, I typically arrange bodies, time and ideas through the form of dance. I am a choreographer.

For some time now I have been feeling the need to share in a different medium yet have not had the courage enough to express my thoughts in a written format. I have, for the longest time, been afraid of writing due to my fear of not possessing the skills to do so eloquently or technically. Being this is the time for me to move within myself to find the courage to shift many of the things in my life, I have decided to challenge myself through sharing and transparency.

Life is a practice. My life in dance and healing has been a huge practice. Why is it that I should think I should be good at writing without the same intent and discipline? I should not. So, here it is, Thirty Days of Thoughts.

I welcome you to follow me through my challenge. I welcome your feedback. I welcome your energy. I welcome your support. I may not get it all “right”, but I promise myself to get it all done. Some thoughts may be short; some maybe long. The point is to practice and share in order to build confidence and momentum. Therefor, let the flow begin.

There is space within space just as there is love within love. The deeper we move inside ourselves, the more expansive the universe becomes.

Returning to Energy

If our existence, both in physical reality and at the subatomic level is energy, why is it we spend so much time trying to gather and collect shapes? I wonder this very thought for dance as well. Why is it we are not working on technique from the vibrations of our bones and the oscillating energy that allows our muscles to fire rather than to work from the external forms in a two dimensional mirror? If it is true that vibrations decide what an atom should be, would it not be more wise to understand the frequency of our bodies and let form follow the function?

Philosophy of Dance

Choreography is the art of shaping energy in space. It is the act of allowing the invisible to become visible through the carving of space and time by the effervescent scintillations of the human body.

Through technical training of the body we developmentally awaken the intrinsic musculature by bringing consciousness to the vibrations and energetic mechanics of our musculature system. This deep cultivation is made possible when the pathways of energy are open and connecting back to the Source energy via the superhighway of the center-line.

Pulling Out Taking It All In

There are times in your life when the mirror of reality reflects the beauty of all that is in your life and you are able to clearly absorb the brilliance of now. This is that time for me. After all of this travel, clarity in the expression of EBAS and the creative bliss of Amaranth, I am seeing the potential of everything and how, what has seemed disparate parts of my process, is in all actuality, a clear weaving of beauty and joy.

 

For so long there have been singular focus shifts as I have given my energy to follow a desire of my heart or a magical dream. I have listened to those callings and worked diligently at following the omens. In many ways there have been many successes; in others there have been dead ends or roadblocks in their current configurations.

 

Yet, all of that said, life still has afforded much bliss, love, light and laughter through it all. I have accepted its “success”, weathered its “failures” and have grown in ways I was not sure ever possible. And even so, there has always been a missing link in how it has all been happening. Its as if the singular focus that I expected to harness greater expansion was actually holding me back.

 

Now I have removed my self from the immediacy of any singular part and stare  at the magic of the whole facing the brilliance of an integrated creative life. I have pulled myself out as one does on Google maps to see a larger expanse of what my life is really like. I see the relationships of how all of my work is linked and how it is linking with those I love.

 

I am excited to be here. Gazing at the potential of everything. And as I see, I pull back even farther to take in more and breathe the light and joy of how beautiful this great expansive universe of my life is. As does the universe expand, so do I.
